The universiy has reopened some of its academic and administrative activities in a progressive and controlled manner. It has implemented norms and biosecurity measures, approved by the national emergency committee, to prevent Covid 19.

The laboratories in all three branch campuses (Cuenca, Quito and Guayaquil) have opened for students to reinforce their research and continue their final graduation projects. There is a lab technician in each laboratory and the laboratories are being cleaned periodically.

Directors of the undergraduate programs must first authorize the use of the labs and assign students date and time. Administrative processes are also being done in the secretary's offices, accounting department, student services and admissions; workers are first tested for Covid 19 before entering the university.

Everyone entering the university must first learn about the protocols, where they can wash their hands and sanitize clothes and shoes.

"All the necessary protection supplies for the staff and the facilities have been acquired. Strict access controls are required for all the staff. The medical department will be checking temperature and symptoms," stated David Mora, administrator of the university's campus in Guayaquil.

The gradual return to work has been planned within strict security measures to care for the health of all workers who return to the university in coming weeks.
