Representatives from the Ministry of Production, International Trade and Investment (MIPRO for its acronym in Spanish) visited our branch campus in Cuenca to learn more about projects in the field of refrigeration and air conditioning with energy efficiency and reducing an environmental impact.

Daniel Heredia, director of Environmental and Technological Department; Ana Correa, National Ozone Officer, spoke to Jorge Fajardo, director of the Mechanical Engineering undergraduate program and César Paltán, professor. They analyzed the training and certification options for professionals who work in these areas, as well as the possibility of implementing laboratories for the recovery and regeneration of refrigerant gases as stated in the Montreal Protocol, which is related to substances that weaken the ozone layer.

This visit allowed Ministry officials to take a tour of the Thermo fluids laboratories and the Wind Tunnel laboratory. They defined future activities for collaborative work for the benefit of the environment and professionals working in these areas, activities that will be detailed in the coming months.
