UPS - Quito welcomes new students

Our branch campus in Quito welcomed about 800 new students to this new semester. The online event started with a welcome speech from UPS president Juan Cardenas who invited students to develop their technical, scientific and human skills.

"You come the university to enjoy your studies, science, research and cooperative learning. You are here to become better people, not only to get a degree; you are here to prepare for life itself because education is life", he said.   

Fernando Pesantez, general vice president, explained that the university's methodology  is based on cooperative models, challenges, projects, case studies, which make students create their own innovative solutions in order to contribute to society. "We provide opportunities for you to develop your creativity and create your own business ventures through cooperation networks and coworking".

Maria Sol Villagomez, vice president of our branch campus in Quito, spoke about the university's structure, campus and programs. "Our education puts young people at the center, it is characterized by accompaniment, closeness and familiarity. Students have the support of a Salesian education that has been successful for more than 150 years all over the world, we are part of the network of Salesian Education Institutions present in the five continents", she said. 

Oscar Caiza, president of the students federation (FEUPS), spoke about all the activities that have been carried out for students and wished them the best of luck.
