The automotive engineering undergraduate program in our branch campus in Guayaquil held an event that enabled people to take their cars with hybrid batteries to be evaluated. Students carried out a free technical inspection of the batteries in hybrid and electric cars. Over 40 people took their cars for an inspection.

"I've had my car for only six months, I came here to learn more about how it works. What the automotive engineering program is doing is a great initiative because it helps us learn more hybrid vehicles, the batteries and preventive maintenance", said Carlos Figueroa.

Jorge Puga, a professional mechanic, said: "The knowledge and professionalism of students is very good, they have leading technology and the service was great. I suggest they do this kind of event more often because they help the community.

The technical inspections were carried out by fourth year students and they were guided by the director of the program, Renato Fierro. The event was held under strict biosecurity measures.
