Celebration of Maria Auxiliadora
From the 18th to the 21st of May, the university community held several celebrations to honor Maria Auxiliadora; there were academic, cultural and religious activities stress the role of mothers and strengthen salesian spirituality. The activities were organized the pastoral department and the students' federation in our branch campus in Quito with the participation of students, professors and administrative staff from our three branch campuses (Cuenca, Guayaquil and Quito).
Maria Auxiliadora is celebrated every May 24th to commemorate Don Bosco's appreciation to the Virgen Mary. This year the events were organized by the business administration, industrial engineering, economics and mechatronics undergraduate programs.
There were some talks: "Mary, the role of women today", the importance of Mary for Catholics, especially Salesians. "Maria servant of the community". "María, a woman who listens and accompanies", and "María and the exercise of motherhood".
Mass was also celebrated by Father Jaime Chela. Afterwards, they presented the winners of the poetry, photography and tik tok competitions.
