Our branch campus in Guayaquil held a closing ceremony for the course titled "Web tools available through NVDA", which was organized by the Support Center for people with disabilities (CAI for its acronym in Spanish) and the Information and Communication Technologies for disabilities Research Group (TICAD for its acronym in Spanish).

Raul Alvarez, vice president of our branch campus in Guayaquil, stated that the university is always supporting people with disabilities. "We currently have over 120 students with disabilities, we don't only provide professional education, but human education as well. We are also constantly training professors and administrative staff".

The closing ceremony was held on site in the "Centenario" campus with strict biosecurity measures, where participants were awarded certificated for passing the course; it was also held online.

It was a 27 hour online course that was attended by people with visual impairment from different parts of the country and one deafblind participant from Bolivia.

"It was a very enriching experience, we gained lots of knowledge and thanks to the teachers, the course was excellent. We were able to provide personal attention, especially to the deafblind participant", said Wladimir Velasco, tutor.

Raul Alvarez stated that in the "Centenario" and "Maria Auxiliadora" Campuses there will be an area exclusively for the UNESCO chairs program.
