Agreement to strengthen the personal and professional performance of the Transit Commission of Ecuador

Universidad Politecnica Salesiana (UPS) and the Transit Commission of Ecuador (CTE for its acronym in Spanish) signed an interinstitutional cooperation agreement in order to establish applied research processes, community engagement and technology transfer during the training sessions for new transit police.

The signing of the agreement was attended by UPS president Juan Cardenas, the vice president of our branch campus in Guayaquil Raul Alvarez and the director of community engagement Wendy Luna. Carlos Balarezo, director of the CTE; and Fabian Bermeo, director of transit police training.

The aim of the agreement is to exchange knowledge and experiences between members of UPS and CTE, and to create initiatives to strengthen people's personal and professional development to successfully influence management of the CTE. 

According to the technical report and information carried out on August 3, 2021 by the CTE, regarding the university, the higher education institution has modern facilities and technological infrastructures necessary for training process of Civil Agents.

 "We believe that the physical structure of the CTE training school is full with the preparation of 1200 Agents and 200 Traffic Inspectors, so the signing of the agreement with UPS will allow the training of the new traffic officers to continue", stated Fabian Bermeo.

Raul Alvarez said: "This institutional cooperation agreement is not only a technical instrument or a statement of purposes and good intentions, it is an opportunity for connecting two institutions that seek to contribute good men and women to society, willing to materialize knowledge within society to make it more just and equitable. "

Carlos Balarezo, stated that "there is interaction in joint projects with community engagement, education and training. It is important to have field information regarding the performance of traffic police to generate continuous improvement processes and scientific research processes to improve".

UPS president Juan Cardenas said: The purpose of signing this agreement is to join forces, exchange experiences and take advantage of the knowledge of each institution to develop initiatives and develop skills in training and personal and professional performance of the Traffic Police of Ecuador, we believe that this will allow to support the CTE in updating the training curricula from the different areas of knowledge, especially from Education and Psychology ".
