On April 23rd and 24th, Freddy Simbaña took part in the First International Congress on Interculturality titled "From the inside and the outside".  Professor Simbaña teaches in the intercultural bilingual education faculty and is also a member of the Education and Interculturality Research Group (GIEI, in spanish).

The event was organized by the Interculturality Network of Catholic Universities in Latin America and the Caribbean (ODUCAL, in Spanish) and Universidad Católica de Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo in Chiclayo, Perú.

Professor Simbaña presented his paper titled "Interculturality in the city" whose aim was to analyze segregation in society during every day activities and intercultural experiences in indigenous societies in the city of Quito.
