Universidad Politécnica Salesiana signed several agreements with companies from the Ecuadorian-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Continental Tire Andina, Induglob and the Chamber of Industry in Cuenca to train staff the company on industrial mechanics and industrial electricity.

Carola Rios, President of the Chamber of Industries in Cuenca and Nelson Jara on behalf of Universidad Politécnica Salesiana said the university has worked with all these companies in order to create the training program.

In the future they look forward to getting an approval from SENESCYT to turn these training programs into undergraduate majors. Professor Jara said that the companies will be in charge of appointing their workers to the right training program according to their skills and experience.

After completing the training programs the students will get a certificate from UPS that will accredit the students' skills and knowledge in the area. They will also get a certificate from the Ecuadorian-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

The UPS General Vice President Luis Tobar Pesantez and the Mayor of Cuenca Marcelo Cabrera Palacios also attended the signing of the agreements.
