Students from UPS Cuenca, Quito and Guayaquil presented 53 innovative projects during the UPS 2016 Boot Camp, a boot camp that was held for entrepreneurs and whose aim was to strengthen an ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation at UPS.

The boot camp was took place from April 21 to 23 in the Baguanchi Convention Center, where over 100 students were accompanied by professionals and experts in coworking, project management and startups.

Professors and experts advised students from each project, students were able to get direct feedback from potential clients and mentors. UPS president Javier Herrán took part of the boot camp as a mentor and encouraged students to be entrepreneurs and innovative and to not let their projects vanish. "We have to fight for what we want, that's the key to success", he said.
Juan Pablo Salgado, head of research, informed the results of the camp, the winners were Alejandra Ordoñez and Joselyn Trujillo who major in biotechnology at UPS-Cuenca. Their project called "MUHU Semilla" is about purifying water with the use of two seeds from the Ecuadorian Amazon.

The camp ended with high expectations for the next event where they hope more students to present innovative project that will benefit society.
