Universidad Politecnica Salesiana's branch in Cuenca welcomed Dr. Jesus Garcia Lopez de la Calle, director of the computer engineering faculty in Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), who was at the university to promote an agreement between UPS and UPM that will allow student mobility for computer engineering students.

There are several ties between UPS and UPM, for instance, 13 UPS professors are currently pursuing a PhD degree in Computer Science and Technologies at UPM. In this regard, Jesus Garcia's visited was also to award professors certificates that represent the end of the first stage of the PhD program; the next stages will focus on research and presentations.

Thanks to Dr. Garcia's visit, the university's research groups took part in an inter university research seminar titled "Estado del Arte de Dígrafos Fuertemente Conexos Minimales" which opened up several possibilities for doctoral thesis. 

Finally, Professor Garcia and some UPS professors created a research approach to help professors who are studying in UPM to successfully coordinate their research and teaching activities.
