We educate professionals in early education who are able to produce innovative knowledge with ethics, critical and constructive capabilities that favor positive changes to reality and educational problems by ensuring the positive construction of people in education.

Employment context

Professionals in early education will contribute to solving problems detected in several work scenarios related to public or private educational organizations. They can be in charge of several tasks such as: teaching, educational management, consultancy, pedagogical mentoring, educational assessment, creating educational material and resources, teacher training and developing educational projects.

They can work in formal education institutions, home education, informal education institutions like museums, clubs, summer camps, libraries, recreation centers, workshops, etc, institutions that develop educational material, consultancy, educational research and civil society organizations.

Education for a professional in early education implies affirming the commitment with teaching and assuming this role in all dimensions: as an encouraging factor of the didactic process in the classroom, as a producer of knowledge, as a guide of socio-cognitive processes and as a researcher who is involved with reality in order to solve specific problems. A teacher's education is considered a process of professional development that "is different from instrumental conception because it takes place throughout a teacher's life and it constitutes an expression of the development of their personality; therefore training programs for teachers are held as continuous learning processes and cover both education and development of professional knowledge and skills,  as well as attitudes, experiences, motivations and values that enable teachers to act ethically and responsibly." (González Tirados & González Maura, 2007, pg. 3).
