As part of the university's "Cultural Friday" program, there was a national music concert in which the group "Rondalla Cañari", from the Casa de la Cultura nucleo del Cañar, performed its best hits. 

The welcome speech was given by UPS president Javier Herran who thanked all the members of the group for attending the event and invited attendees to enjoy the show.

The first song they played was Rondalla Cañarí, music by Jose Orellana who is the founder and the director of the group; the song was written by Rodrigo Pesantez. Other songs played by the group were: La Bocina, Fox incaico; Maicito, albazo; Ay Caramba and Mi lindo Ecuador.

Before ending the show, Jose Orellana thanked the university officials for the invitation and allowing them to present their music.
