Students presented innovative prototypes
On February 23rd, the mechatronics undergraduate program and the Education and Scientific Information Research Group (GIEDIC for its acronym in Spanish) in the university's branch campus in Guayaquil held the first competition on Innovative Projects. First year students took part in this competition which was divided into two categories: Future mechatronics and redesigning mechatronics.
This event will allow students to use and put into practice all the information they have learned in class in order to create innovate projects. "Students have worked on their projects since the first day they had class and their professors have seen their dedication and hard work", said Alicia Cedeño, coordinator of this event.
Twenty projects were presented to a jury that analyzed several aspects such as: originality, accesibility, sustainablility and usefulness. "There are excellent projects and it is also important to see the enthusiasm and hard work of students in order to create the prototypes", said Andres Bayolo, vice president of UPS's branch campus in Guayaquil.
