University mathematics for high school students

The university inaugurated a new course which is part of the project titled "University mathematics for high school students"; the course is aimed at 12th grade high school students from Tecnico Salesiano and Gullermo Mensi.

Cesar Vasquez, vice president of the university's branch campus in Cuenca, welcomed the students who will take part in this course that allows students to become familiar with university math. He also asked students to take advantage of this opportunity in order to master this subject.

Javier Armijos, coordinator of the program, spoke about the importance of mathematics in different professions. Classes will be held in Maria Auxiliadora Campus on Tuesday and Thursday from 5 – 7pm with 100 students.

Representatives of the two high schools that are taking part of this project thanked the university for providing students with this opportunity to prepare for their entrance to the university
