The Salesian group Yachaykuna, which belongs to the pedagogy undergraduate program in Cuenca, held an important celebration of the kichwa-cañari community, the "Pawcar Raymi", in the university. This celebration is held to thank and then share the products provided by mother earth.

The celebration included an exhibition of fruits, typical dishes and medicinal plants from Cañar. There were also dance groups like the Yachaykuna group made up by indigenous students, the Ñucanchi Kawsay group Nuestra Vida from the community of Quilloac (Cañar) and dance groups from the university's branch campus in Cuenca.

The program started with a talk from Victoria Jara, the director of the pedagogy undergraduate program, who thanked the university officials for their support to carry out this traditional celebration of the Cañari community and make the university more inclusive and appreciate diversity.

UPS president Javier Herran congratulated the organizers, in quichua, for carrying out this event and creating intercultural coexistence as well as acquiring scientific and technological knowledge without losing their identity.

Miguel Mayancela, coordinator of the Yachaykuna group, was pleased with all the support to carry out this event which helps strengthen inclusion in the university
