Angel Paucar, director of the automotive engineering undergraduate program in our branch campus in Quito, and Renato Fierro, director of the same program in Guayaquil, visited South Korea to learn more about technologies and equipment being used in institutions that are specialized in automotive engineering.

They first visited the YES01 industrial plant which manufactures equipment and didactic and entertainment devices. The university's plan is to have this equipment in order to improve education for its students.

They also visited automobile manufacturers such as Hyundai Motor Studio Seoul, Kia Motors Hwasung Factory and BMW Drive Center. During their visit they learned more about the design process, the technology used in building these cars, production process and quality control.

They then went to several education centers specialized in automotive engineering, such as Induk Technical Highschool, Uijeongbu Technical School and Ajou Motor College. They visited the laboratories, revised the curriculum and suggested signing some cooperation agreements between our university and their schools.

For both directors "it is important to continue this process and establish relationships with the institutions we have visited. We are convinced that the support we get for these visits are vital to keep on improving".
