The donation of the machines

The university's mechanical engineering undergraduate program and the Reinas de Cuenca Foundation donated four mobile machines that will help children with disabilities move to "Fundación OSSO" (an organization at the service of orphanages).

The university implemented two mobile machines that will enable patients to move around the building. Other two fixed machines were places in bathrooms. The machines were built under safety and quality standards which guarantee its efficient use.

Fundación OSSO is an international organization created in the city of Cuenca that cares for abandoned children with special needs. The foundation currently employs 12 people that care for 26 children. Before having these machines, workers had to carry the patients from one place to another.

The workers of the foundation were trained on the use of the machines. Pedro Aviles, a student of mechanical engineering, explained that the machines withstand over 120 kilos and are made with excellent quality materials
