On the 23rd and 24th of February, our branch campus in Cuenca held the 8th edition of the National "Don Bosco" Rugby 7 competition. Our university's men's and women's team were crowned champions.

The women's team "Carneras" won their third title by beating "Yaguares FC" from Guayaquil 33-7. The players were highly prepared and dominated throughout the game. 

The men's team "Carneros" won the championship for the first time by beating "Jibaros", from the city of Quito, in the final match 33-10. It was a close game at the beginning but then the home team took over the game. 

12 men's teams and 6 women's teams took part in the competition, there were about 200 players. The inauguration of the competition was attended by UPS president Javier Herran, the general vice president Luis Tobar, and acting vice president Wilson Quintuña. 

Janina Rivera from "Aguilas" and Juan Cordovilla from "Carneros" were declared the best players of the tournament.
