First year automotive engineering students from our branch campus in Guayaquil held an exhibition of naval prototypes created in Manufacturing Processes class.

Students presented 15 prototypes during the event which was attended by professors, officials and students from different undergraduate programs. "The prototypes were created in about four months", said Renato Fierro, director of the automotive engineering program.

For the construction process, students used recycled material such as fiberglass, iron and plastic, taking into account the mechanisms of buoyancy and durability. "Professors were always willing to help us and that's good because it helps reinforce the practice of our profession," said Katherine Muñoz, a student.

During the event they also held an aquatic bike competition which was won by students Erick Arias, Jonathan Aguilar, Diego Becerra and José Orellana with their prototype "Zeus"
