Experts from different countries took part in the webinar

From the 15th to the 19th of June, the Biomedical Engineering Research Group and the biomedicine undergraduate program held a series of webinars on "Rehabilitation and Bio mechatronics" with the participation of international experts who presented topics on current technological issues and its use on disabilities. 

Students, professors and professionals in the field of bio mechatronics who joined the webinars were able to listen to international experts who spoke about several topics based on their experience 

The first webinar was led by Stefano Mazzoleni, professor at Polytechnic University of Bari (Italy). He spoke about research in medicine and its impact on the development of robotic assistive programs. Teodiano Freire, professor at Universidad Federal do Espirito Santo, led the webinar on "New assistive technologies for people with disabilities". Mauro Callejas, professor at Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia (UPTC), Monica Gisela Castaneda, from Universidad Don Bosco in El Salvador and John Calle, professor at Universidad Politecnica Salesiana (UPS) presented the topic "Biomechanical exoskeleton for lower limbs".

There were a total of 520 participants from El Salvador, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, USA and Spain. The aim of the webinars were to support education from the field of biomedicine; the webinars were organized by the biomedicine students, Paola Ingavelez, director of the biomedicine undergraduate program and Fernando Urgiles, coordinator of the research group.
