Course: Women's rights to a life free of violence

Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, its Management for Local Sustainable Development major, the projects: “Woman”, which is co-financed by women from New York and Chicago, and “Mujeres con voz” co-financed by the European Union and implemented by CARE and ACDemocracia, invite everyone to take part in the continuing education course titled “Women’s rights towards a violence free life”

The aim of the course is to strengthen knowledge and develop competencies for citizen participation and demanding rights for a life free of violence. This event will take place from the 3rd of April to the 9th of June, the approach will be constructivist and will be done virtually. 

The topics of the course are:

-    Identify roles, stereotypes and gender systems

-    Recognize characteristics of violence against women, both in the public and private sector

-    Learn about the basic principles of women’s human rights, the national and international norms of protection, guarantees and restitution of rights for a violence free life

-    Understand the importance of participation and social control of civil society and identify the mechanisms of citizen participation to demand women’s rights

The course is aimed at leaders of social organizations, workers of autonomous governments, UPS students and professors.

This event is free of charge for the first 200 people to register. Registration is from March 10th – 30th; once you register you will receive an email, username and access to the virtual course.
