UPS professors work on new research projects
Professor Ricardo Cajo's research, which he presented his research in the Asia-Pacific Conference on Computer-Aided System Engineering (APCASE 2015) and the International Conference on Renewable Energy Research and Applications (ICRERA 2015), has been indexed to the Scopus data base. Professor Cajo conducted his research along with Wilton Agila Gálvez and Douglas Plaza Guingla from the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL).
His paper titled "Evaluación de los algoritmos de control PID lineal y no lineal para el sistema Twin Rotor MIMO" explains the design and development of linear PID control algorithyms and non linear for a multiple variable helicopter type of 2 coupled motors (TRMS).
In the research they used the Twin Rotor Mimo Systems model helicopter, to study the problem of stabilizing these systems, which expose a highly nonlinear dynamics with significant cross-links between their propellers. "This could be done through tracking trajectories and energy consumption. In addition, it can be used in the industry to improve the performance of these vehicles," said Professor Cajo.
While the other research titled "Agentes expertos en control de Pila de Combustible PEM " which was presented in ICRERA 2015, explains the design and development of architectures based on expert agents for the autonomous control of the PEM stack (Proton Exchange menbrane) under optimal operating conditions.
Through the research work, the best descriptors for the classification stage according to the state of the stack were sought. "The perception of state agent joins others in the generation and alert management to failures, in addition to efficiency control architecture assessment, monitoring and control in real time for optimum performance," said Agila.
For professor Cajo, these international conferences provide a path for indexing research and facilitating the exchange of knowledge with other specialists, and generating new applications of science.
The fundamental contribution of scientific papers is the updating and creation of new knowledge that can be applied in the classroom and in future projects. "Working with researchers from national and international universities is rewarding thanks to the exchange of knowledge, which becomes fundamental in scientific production of our institution," said Professor Cajo.
