A proposal by UPS professor, Floralba Aguilar, places Philosophy of Education among the philosophical sciences from where it determines its object, nature and relationship between theory and practice. With the presentation of the topic "Functions, tasks and challenges of the Philosophy of Education", the Philosophy professor of UPS's branch campus in Quito shared her approach during the IV Latin American Congress of Philosophy of Education which was held at the Universidad de San Martin (UNSAM) in Argentina .

During the meeting, Aguilar led the workshop "Didactic strategies to develop mental operations in the person that learns", and motivated participants to analyze the importance of mental operations in the intellectual and social development of the person who learns.

Among the didactic strategies we have the comparison through interrogation (CMI); representation, transformation and evocation (RTE); confrontation, reduction and reflection (ERR); reception, understanding, retention and transfer (RCRT); interest, expectation and meaning (IES).

For the researcher, the conference facilitated the interdisciplinary dialogue by expanding the links of international collaboration for the inclusion of new members in the Scientific Council of Sophia Magazine, of which she is the editor. She said that in the next issues the renowned Argentine philosopher Carlos Cullen will collaborate, one of the exponents of the culturological optics of the Philosophy of Liberation
