On march 4th UPS started having meetings that will strengthen professor's Salesian identity called "Jornadas de fortalecimiento de la identidad salesiana"  and organized by the university pastoral department.

The event is aimed at UPS professors in order to "establish clear parameters of what it means to be part of a salesian university so that professors will be capable of meetings students' needs, not only academically but humanistic as well. Thus helping people develop integrally" said Xavier Merchan, director of the university pastoral department.

The meetings are divided into three important parts that will fulfill the university's mission and vision statements and distinguish it from other higher education institutions. The first is Instrospección, which allows people to get to know themselves better and find themselves as a person and as a professional. The second is encuentro, which intends to strengthen professors' leadership skills so they can listen and support their students. And finally, celebración where you feel satisfied for what you have achieved.

The first meeting was held social communication, business and accounting professors, but during this month the rest of the university majors will attend the meeting according to the following calendar:

•    March 4: Business, accounting and social communication

•    March 5: Physical education, local development management, pedagogy, occupational psychology, the English department, systems and industrial engineering.

•    March 11: Electrical and electronic engineering  

•    March 12:Biotechnology, environmental and automotive mechanical engineering 

•    March 18: Mechanical engineering, mechatronics, mathematics institute, and veterinary medicine
