In yesterday's session of the "Good citizens and the preventive system" Congress, the topics were: "What type of citizen for what type of society?" which was presented by Liliana Mayer, Astrid Dupret, Javier Collado and Fausto Sáenz (moderator); "The future of the preventive system" led by María Elena Ortiz, Alberto Pirni, Pedro Núnez, José Juncosa and Pablo Farfán (moderator); and "Youngsters, subject, means and aims" presented by Melina Vázquez, Alexandra Agudelo, René Unda Lara and Saúl Uribe (moderator).

Liliana Mayer spoke about the education system of the last 30 years in the context of social, political and educational changes. She highlighted the value of interculturality, global tendencies and technological literacy. She said that in order to build a preventive system we need to overcome the idea that youngsters don't know what they want, that they don't make an effort, that they are violent, as well as have good relations with the state, society and the market  to have inclusion in society.

Astrid Drupet spoke about the threats of cyber cultures for people in education. "Virtuality eliminates subjectivities, it makes people's social ties disappear, there is no contact with the other person, words are lost. The biggest challenge in education is making people critics to reality"

Javier Collado explained the paradigm of "cosmodernidad", educating people to live with  Pachamama. Regarding education in the preventive system, he said "it is to internalize the process of feeling, thinking and acting to be in line with life during our co-evolution with social and natural environment, because human beings are immersed in systemic and interdependent processes of energy, matter and information."

Ma. Elena Ortiz spoke about the influence of modern means of communication (Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram) in building cultural and social identities that contradict formal systems of education. She said that prevention is in school and the job of teachers is to suggest different perspectives for the development of good citizens and lifestyles.

Alberto Pirni explained the concept of citizen in three topics: apathetic citizen, distanced citizen and monitoring citizen in order to specify the context of citizenship and their relationship to social and cultural media; while Pedro Nunez addressed the importance of prevention according to the Argentine school model, where young people interact from their own initiative to build good citizens.

Jose Juncosa, from the experience of universities, suggested generating an intercultural commitment from the preventive system as a manner of accompaniment.

Melina Vasquez spoke about the process of militancy in Argentina since the days of dictatorship up to now and Agudelo highlighted the commitment of academia as activist of human rights. Unda Lara presented the project: Good Christians and honest citizens, sociocultural transformations and challenges of educating young people in Ecuador.

In the afternoon, participants spoke about actions and proposals for the preventive system.
