The modern dance group from the university's branch campus in Guayaquil presented a dance show titled "Fiesta Latina" during the last Cultural Wednesday program held in the university. The aim was to keep these cultural traditions alive and give students an integral education.

This show was also to commemorate World Tourism Day which was celebrated on September 27th . "Art brings people together and this time dancing has enabled us to demonstrate the existing musical diversity that we should all enjoy", said Maria de los Angeles Andrade, director of the modern dance group.

The dance groups that performed in this show were: Danstar, Así se Baila Dance Corp, Bailarte Studio, The New Family, Escuela ecuatoriana de Ballet Daniel Vera and the UPS dance group.
"It is important to foster dance in young people so they can learn more about our culture", said Johnny Silva, dancer of the "New Family" dance academy.

The Cultural Wednesday program is held on the last Wednesday of every month, it is free of charge and open to students, professors, staff and the overall public.

The next program will take place on October 25th with the presentation of several music bands.
