UPS officials named Saul Ortiz the new director of the Industrial Engineering undergraduate program during the meeting with the directors from all study programs. Cesar Vasquez, vice president of the university's branch campus in Cuenca, wished Ortiz the best of luck and said "the success of the new director's management will be the success of the program and the university". 

Saul Ortiz thanked the university officials for trusting him and said he is committed to meeting their expectations. He said he will work to make students feel more comfortable, making sure they have the appropriate conditions so they feel pleased with studying industrial engineering and successfully graduate from UPS. 

Saul Ortiz is an industrial engineer who has worked in the university since 2012 as a professor in the faculty of business administration and accounting. His work has been acknowledged by the directors of the aforementioned programs, officials and students.
