The university's pastoral department in Guayaquil held a Triduum in the university chapel in honor of Virgen Mary, an event that prepares people for the celebration of the feast of Mary.

"Triduum is a period of three days of prayers for the Catholic church", said Juan Jose Rocha, assistant of the pastoral department. During the first day of celebration, attendees learned about the history of invocation of Mary and her appearance to John Bosco in 1860 to show him the place where he was to built the temple. The temple began to be constructed with only twenty cents, but soon after Mary's miracles, she began having more devotees and four years later the construction was ready", said Rocha.

For Don Bosco, every brick used in building the temple represents a miracle of the Virgen. This is why Salesians are loyal to their founders and always honor Mary.
