On June 15th, the university's branch campus in Guayaquil held the Music Festival "Music Fest UPS 2017" organized by the Alliance Francoise. The festival was attended by students, professors, administrative staff and people from the Cuba neighborhood.

"We try to have variety in the event so all attendees can feel identified", said Ruth Diaz, director of the choir group in Guayaquil and member of the organizing committee. 

The bands that participated were: Guayaquil Consort Ensamble, Trio Renacentista "NEPTUNO", Coro UPS, The Jazz Project Academy, Grupo SHARK, Soundbox, music students from UCSG,who played barroca, renacentismo, bolero, jazz, latin pop, balads romantic music.

This event has been held since 1982 and its aim is to have everyone who loves music celebrate this art, it has become the ideal place to strengthen culture through music
