Universidad Politecnica Salesiana and the National Council of Community Governments of Ecuador (CONAGOPARE AZUAY) signed an interinstitutional cooperation agreement that will provide courses on leadership. The agreement was signed by Cesar Vasquez, vice president of UPS's branch campus in Cuenca, and Rene Lucero, President of CONAGOPARE. The courses will be aimed at members and representatives of the communities in Azuay.

The course on leadership is a continuing education course that will allow participants to acquire skills based on values and principles that contribute to making a cooperative society that is aware of its rights and obligations. Some of the topics covered in the course will be on economic, social, cultural and political environment. 

Cesar Vasquez said this is an important agreement that will turn people into leaders and create link between academia and society. Lucero said that training leaders is a great responsibility of public administration, in this case it will benefit communities in this province.
