The university's women's soccer team, "Carneras UPS", is more than just a team, it is a family guided by salesian values such as solidarity, support and work that seeks to help those who are most in need.

Based on their salesian values and due to the country's current situation, Carneras UPS has organized a campaign titled "Carneras es solidaridad" aimed at collecting food for people in vulnerable situations in Cuenca. 

So far, 280 people have received a food survival kit; the university's rugby team has also joined this campaign to help collect food for the kits. 

Edison Mendez, coach of Carneras UPS, said the team wants to help people in vulnerable situations and stated that "Carneras UPS" does not only make players, they make people who are guided by Salesian values. In the next few days, the team will hold another activity for social assistance.
