The business administration undergraduate program in our branch campus in Guayaquil organized a webinar to discuss tools used to analyze risks in credits and collections.

The webinar was aimed at business administration professionals, students and professors. The speaker was Sunny Navas, who is currently the national manager of credit and collections of an important business group.

The topics were: basic documents that should be considered to carry out the credit granting; financial analysis, what to take into account when reviewing the statement of financial position, public order information, access to public order information of companies which provides clear information about the financial situation of people and companies.

"Today, credit is a fairly strong tool, before the pandemic it was already considered by most companies as a very important point for the development of their operations. Unfortunately, the decrease in consumption leads to an impact on the amount of money available in order to continue investing, producing and selling and there is nothing left to do but turn to credit lines", said Navas.

The basic documents to take into account to carry out a credit analysis are: form 101 of the Internal Revenue Service, which allows the verification of client's financial status; monthly statements of value added tax, estimated monthly flow, bank certificates; assets, liabilities and equity; authorization to review the credit bureau; and documents to verify addresses.

"It is also necessary to consider the liquidity index, the indebtedness index, the gross profit margin and the net profit margin as the main indicators," stated Navas, who answered participants' questions focused on their business and personal finances.
