Conferences led by former mechanical engineering students

The mechanical engineering undergraduate program held several conferences which were led by former mechanical engineering students; they were there to talk about their professional experience and explain how theory combines with practice in real industries. They focused on mechanical design, fluid mechanics, hydraulic machines, project management, material sciences, structural calculus and maintenance management.

The alumni who took part in the conferences were:

Micaela Villa, mechanical engineer and Master of Science in Mechanics of Materials and Structures, she works for the research and development department in Tugalt S.A- Grupo Industrial Graiman Company, as a technical analyst in Cartomanabi S.A Company, and in Central hidroeléctrica de Pedernales. She spoke about materials science.

Hans Ollague, mechanical engineer, Analyst of Mechanical systems infrastructure at the Ministry of Education. Maintenance mechanic and works inspector for hydroelectric plants in CELEC EP. Technician in the implementation of the maintenance management module for CELEC EP. Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor and Contract Administrator for Central Hidroeléctrica at CELEC EP. He spoke about hydraulic machines.

Freddy Moncayo, mechanical engineer and Master in mechanical engineering, specialist in Structural Calculation and Computational Simulation Technologies; CEO of Bio FEMIx Consulting & Engineering. He spoke about Structural Calculus.

Ana Karla Calle, mechanical engineer, has taken courses in: Auxiliary Industrial Safety Specialist, Quality Management Specialist. She worked in the Maintenance Department in Cartopel, currently the Production Coordinator of Parmalat. She spoke about maintenance management.

Marco Moncayo, mechanical engineer; Experience as: Product Engineer (R&D) Indurama, Development Engineer (R&D) Vitefama and Industrial Operations Advisor, with courses in Multiphase Computational Design. He spoke about Mechanical Design.

Álvaro Cuji, mechanical engineer and master's student at the Rovira i Virgili University Tarragona-Spain, specialist in Computational Fluid Dynamics, Indurama Design Engineer (R&D). He spoke about Fluid Mechanics.

Hernán Morocho Campos, mechanical engineer Master in Project Management from the EAE Business School and Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid; Consultant at CITUPS, he talked about Project Management.

The conferences are an example of the permanent relationship that UPS has with its graduates, the camaraderie that exists among graduates and their desire to support students who are starting, their level of professionalism and capacity demonstrates the level of graduates of this University.
