Since July 2023, Universidad Politecnica Salesian (UPS) and the Apostolic Vicariate of the Galapagos Islands have been working together to strengthen local media, such as Radio La Voz de las Galapagos and Telegalapagos Canal 13.

With more than half a century of community service, the Vicariate has led educational and media initiatives on the islands. Now, together with UPS, they are embarking on a multifaceted project to revitalize media and enhance students' skills in media production, journalism and design.

In line with the Sustainable Development goals, this work seeks not only to enrich the content of local media, but also to promote education, culture and environmental conservation. Through the creation of a Youth Journalism Club and radio production workshops, the aim is to generate a positive and lasting impact on the island communities.

 
This agreement is based on specific objectives that go from the modernization of Radio La Voz de las Galapagos' infrastructure to the production of varied content based on the Sustainable Development Goals.
