The university's branch in Cuenca and its workers association (ADETUPS) acknowledged professors and overall staff who have worked in the university for 5, 10, 15, and 20 years. 
A special ceremony was held in the university theater, where Cesar Vasquez, the university's vice president in Cuenca, welcomed professors, workers, their families and special guests. He emphasized the work carried out by all the workers in the university, but especially those who have been around for over 5 years. He encouraged them to keep up the good work and keep making the university better. 

Flavio Quizhpi, president of ADETUPS, thanked each one of the members who make up the association and congratulated those who were acknowledged. 

UPS president Javier Herran spoke about the importance of recognizing the work of professors and all workers in the university. He said that the work carried out by each person is fundamental so that the university's values are transmitted and understood by students. 

The honorees were given a diploma that stated the university's gratitude; a special recognition was made to Enrique Arias Sacoto who has worked over 30 years not only for the university but for the entire salesian community.

Carlos Lucero spoke on behalf of all the honorees and said how much the university has grown during 20 years.
