Universidad Politecnica Salesiana's branch in Cuenca and the municipality of Guachapala signed an inter institutional cooperation agreement that will revitalize tourism and cultural heritage in this town.

Communication students will contribute to this project by making communication products, creating a web site, an online radio station and they will also conduct research on the town's cultural heritage. The students will carry out their practicum while being guided by professors.

The mayor of Guachapala was very thankful with UPS for helping the development of one of the smallest towns in Azuay and the country. He hopes that the work between the university students and the municipality generate the expected results.

Cesar Vasquez said this strategic alliance is very important for the university but especially for its students since they will be able to apply their skill and the knowledge learnt in the classroom.

Professors Pedro Colangelo and Blas Garzon made the proposal and will be in charge of monitoring the activities carried out by students.
