Civil Engineering students from our branch campus in Cuenca are participating in a community engagement project with Drinking Water Board in Victoria del Portete and Tarqui. The project combines technology, sustainability, and citizen participation.

The project includes activities aimed at the ecological assessment and conservation of the Irquis River, as well as the evaluation and upgrade of the drinking water system. This will generate reliable technical data on the state of water resources and promote a culture of environmental co-responsibility between the community and academia.

Civil Engineering students and professors participate in the workshops, which integrate scientific knowledge, community action, and sustainable practices.
This project strengthens ties between UPS and local organizations, promoting university education committed to the realities of the environment and focused on solving local problems from a technical, social, and environmental perspective.
