Students from the technical course on Industrial Electricity in our branch campus in Guayaquil visited the “Villonaco” wind power plant and the “Delsitanisagua” hydroelectric power plant in order to learn about the operation of the plants and technologies used to generate power.

Students learned the processes of wind and electricity generation, how wind and water are transformed into sources of clean energy. The visit included a comprehensive visit to the facilities, where students analyzed the operation of wind turbines and hydraulic turbines, as well as the injection and distribution of energy to the national grid.

Luis Pesantes Ocampo, professor of the course, spoke about the importance of this experience: "Students observed the processes of wind and electrical energy, giving them the opportunity of putting everything they learned into practice and, even better, learning from the experience of the engineers who work in the field."

Juan Pablo Flores, operations supervisor of the Delsitanisagua Hydroelectric Power Plant, stressed the importance of understanding the complete generation cycle: “We visited the entire plant, we learned about the process from water injection to the energy delivery phase.”

José Muñiz Baque, a student, said: “It is the first time I have come to a hydroelectric plant, where energy is generated. The whole process caught my attention and it is impressive to see the turbines, the machinery, the process itself.”

This technical visit allowed students not only to reinforce their theoretical knowledge, but also to understand the importance of innovation in the energy sector, preparing them to contribute to the development of a more sustainable future.
