On May 20, Universidad Politecnica Salesiana's branch in Guayaquil launched three new books written by its professors; "Introducción al Cálculo Diferencial con Geometría Analítica"  written by Victor Huilcapi; "Gestión de riesgo empresarial: Evaluación y mejoramiento del control interno de fundaciones. Estudio de caso" written by Priscila Paredes and "Cacería de brujas", written by Augusto Rodriguez.

Luis Tobar, PhD, UPS Acting President, Andres Bayolo, UPS Vice President in Guayaquil, and Luis Alvarez, General Editor, attended the event. During his speech, Dr. Tobar highlighted the research being carried out in Guayaquil.

"UPS is focused in scientific research and this time the books have been written by professors from the faculty of electronic engineering, accounting and communication", said Luis Alvarez.

The books were presented by Wilton Agila, professor and researcher from Escuela Superior Politécnica del Ecuador, Lilia Valencia, President of Universidad Estatal "Península de Santa Elena" and Marjorie Salgado, UPS professor.

The book "Introducción al Cálculo Diferencial con Geometría Analítica " is divided into 5 chapters , and its  aim is to strengthen students' knowledge in this field in the field of Electronics, and therefore improve the teaching process . "The book is not just for students to understand these issues, but to contribute to the dissemination of mathematical sciences", said Huilcapi .

The book "Gestión de riesgo empresarial: Evaluación y mejoramiento del control interno de fundaciones. Estudio de caso"  has 6 sections used to assess the usefulness and the progress of internal control within non-governmental entities. Professor Paredes believes the book will help identify events that prevent the consequence of the objectives related to the nature of operation within NGOs. "The book not only contains the operation but it establishes policies and procedures for efficient management of resources as well", he said.

Cacería de Brujas is a book with over 80 poems and is the result of a project between UPS and the Detention Center in Guayaquil , which began in May 2015 with the collaboration of students who study Social Communication . "The main focus of the project is that persons in the detention center read, write and of course discover the language ," said the author Augusto Rodriguez.
