UPS paid tribute to the Ecuadorian Pasillo
Those who attended the "Festival de música nacional, homenaje al pasillo ecuatoriano" in the University's Carlos Crespi Theater to witness the tribute to the Ecuadorian Pasillo, held last Friday, October 31st, surely enjoyed a great event that was performed by artists who have a remarkable musical trajectory nationally and internationally. Father Javier Herrán Gomez, UPS president, presented the festival as part of Cuenca's Independence festivities.
This time, the Culture and Communication department organized the traditional "Salesian Cultural Friday" with several artists such as Diego Zamora and the group "La Familia" that started the show by singing "Rosario de besos". They then continued their show with more Ecuadorian music.
Soloists Pablo Marín Vásquez and Juan Carlos Gutiérrez also sang pasillos as well other national music genres.
To close the festival the group "Los Caballeros del Sur" sang songs like "Aquellos ojos", Amor imposible", "Así se goza", and "Pobre corazón".
