The communication undergraduate program in our branch campus in Cuenca and the Information Observatory for Humanitarian Crises (ODECRIH for its acronym in Spanish) held an event to present the two year research results on humanitarian crises in Ecuador. 

 

The research was conducted by students and teachers of the Communication major in our branch campus in Cuenca, it seeks to raise awareness among high school students in Cuenca, using new dynamics related to humanitarian crises. It is important to note that the University has established the observatory (ODECRIH), with the purpose of analyzing media coverage during periods of political, economic and social events.


 
During the event, they presented three books and a comic book created by students and teachers of the Communication major, with the help of GICEA and GAMELAB. They were published by Abya-Yala of Ecuador and McGraw Hill.


 
High school students from Manuel J. Calle, Miguel Merchán Ochoa, Porvenir and Tecnico Salesiano presented role plays on hate speeches.
