Cuenca, sábado 10 mayo 2025

The university presented a commemorative edition of its journal "Juventud y Ciencia Solidaria: On the Path of Research" during an event that combined art, academia, and social commitment. The festival, organized by the UNESCO Chairs "Assistive Technologies for Inclusive Education" in our branch campus in Cuenca, marked the publication's seven-year anniversary, highlighting its impact on promoting research among young students and its alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This special edition, titled "Seven Years Building Bridges between Youth, Science, and Solidarity," captures the journal's most important milestones, including its first international article, the first edition in English and Italian, and the most downloaded study: "Virtual Education in Times of Pandemic," with more than 17,000. Since its creation in 2018, the publication has compiled 274 articles by 487 authors (196 men and 291 women), addressing topics such as inclusive education, health, and sustainability.

During the event, they explained that 40% of the articles are linked to SDG 4 (Quality Education), which shows the journal's focus on holistic education. They also explained the articles are written in a “living book" format, which seeks to make scientific knowledge more accessible.

The festival featured performances by students from the following schools: Unidad Educativa José Peralta (Cañar), Unidad Educativa La Salle Azogues, Unidad Educativa Hermano Miguel La Salle, Unidad Educativa Eugenio Espejo, Unidad Educativa Técnico Salesiano, Unidad Educativa Santana, Unidad Educativa Sudamericano, Unidad Educativa La Asunción and Unidad Educativa Luis Roberto Bravo. The presentations delighted the audience with traditional dances and songs.
