The University Radio Stations Network (RRUE, for its acronym in Spanish) elected new board members for the 2020 – 2022 period. Ivannova Nieto from Universidad Central del Ecuador (UCE) was elected president and Cesar Andrade from Universidad Politecnica Salesiana (UPS) was elected vice president. 

The election process was done through zoom with representatives from the following universities: Universidad Técnica de Manabí (UTM), Universidad Técnica de Ambato (UTA), Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL), Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil (UCSG), Universidad Central del Ecuador (UCE), Universidad San Gregorio de Portoviejo (USG), Universidad de Cuenca, Universidad Técnica del Norte (UTN), Escuela Superior Politécnica del Ejercito (ESPE), Facultad Latinoamericana de Comunicación Social (FLACSO) y la Universidad Politécnica Salesiana (UPS).   

Efraín Luna, outgoing president of the RRUE, who was in this position for two years, stated his gratitude to the broadcasters of both public and private universities that make up the network of university radio stations for the valuable support and professional work of radio institutions of higher education who have been in the adequate and timely management of information during the time of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ivannova Nieto, stated that she will expand the network of radio stations by having the participation of other universities in the country in order to share academic and scientific knowledge, professional experiences and radio products produced by students and teachers.

César Andrade stated that since the RRUE belongs to the International Network of University Radios Stations (RIU) which is located in Spain, with other networks university stations from various countries in Latin America, Europe and the United States, it seeks to strengthen collaborative work that renew and strengthen the country's radio production.

Palmira Chavero from FLACSO was elected the secretary of the RRUE; Juan Francisco Beltrán from Universidad de Cuenca, Treasurer; and the other members Wilo Martínez from Universidad Técnica del Norte; and Fernando Toala from Universidad Técnica de Manabí
