Fifty-eight workers, professors, administrative staff, in our branch campus in Quito received a special recognition for working at the university during 10, 15, 20 and 25 years. The event was organized by the workers' association. 

Jose Juncosa, outgoing vice president of the university's campus in Quito, stated "all these years of work, represent significant and creative contributions to the university…". German Gomez, president of the workers' association, thanked the workers for their effort and dedication. 

Patricia Jara who works in the student services department, has worked at the university for 25 years, "my greatest satisfaction is having students' gratitude. I thank UPS for creating opportunities that help us improve people's quality of life. 

Luis Montaluisa, professor, has worked in the university for 20 years. "We make up a great academic family, UPS has a long term vision with a goal for social service so that science and technology reaches many sectors", he said. 

Maria Sol Villagomez, vice president of the university's campus in Quito, stated "recognizing the work carried out in the university, means recognizing that we all make up the university and that UPS grows because of all our work. Thanks for your effort, hard work and commitment".

UPS president Javier Herrán, asked everyone to change their concept of the word "work". "The concept of work you have had is to do something for common good. The place where we work, creates science, serves young people; it is a common good called university", he stated.
