Since the start of the pandemic, our branch campus in Guayaquil has been working on two academic projects, PETE (professional experts in ICTS and education) and TUPAR (Peer tutoring), aimed at improving learning processes for students with especial disabilities.

There is personalized and professional guidance for UPS students with disabilities which will help them improve their skills, help with homework and prepare them for exams.

"The objectives of both educational inclusion projects provide tutoring to students with disabilities from different academic programs in Guayaquil” stated Yajaira Bermeo, UNESCO Chair program assistant. It also facilitates joint work, designing accessible and inclusive online classes; support students with materials, resources and assistance channels; maintain adequate communication channels between students and support tutors.

The TUPAR project is associated with the GASOL research group (Free Software Academic Group), which promotes free software and especially ICT. This project works together with students from the Computer Engineering program.

If you are a student or have already graduated and would to like to volunteer and help in the tutoring courses email ybermeo@ups.edu.ec. At the end of the program, you will be awarded a certificate endorsed by Universidad Politecnica Salesiana and the Unesco chairs program.
