Research is a means that allows knowledge societies to positively influence economic production and development. Therefore, on September 5th, the research coordination department at UPS-Guayaquil started the "II Course on Scientific Production" aimed at 60 professors, researchers, administrative staff and students.

The 40 hour course, which is divided into 32 class hours and 8 independent projects, is given by Raquel Ayala, PhD from Ecuador and Cuban professors Eddy Conde, Adiel Castaño and Julian Triana. The aim is to cause a positive impact in knowledge, both in basic and applied sciences.

Another aim of the course is to enhance scientific competencies related to organization, development and scientific dissemination processes by using the research conducted by professors in the classroom, postgraduate studies, personal or group research projects, etc.

"UPS works to strengthen research, innovation and dissemination processes in benefit of its academic community, especially professors and students. Therefore, it is imperative that research emerges from solid basis, that they begin with suitable designs and protocols and end up with a positive impact in the international science community" said Raquek Ayala, PhD.
