The Padre Carollo Hospital and CAMTA will hold scientific meetings

As part of the 12th Medical Meeting on Trauma Surgery, the Padre Carollo Hospital and the  Canadian Association of Medical Teams Abroad (CAMTA) have organized two scientific talks that will be held on Saturday, February 28th at 8am in the Centro de Atención Integral para Jóvenes.  
Both talks will be given by renowned doctors from CAMTA:

1.    Doctor Jaime Carvajal Alba, a graduate from Universidad CES (Colombia). He specialized in orthopedic surgery in the Miller School of Medicine in Canada and currently works in the orthopedic area in Alberta University in Canada. He will speak about “Coxarthrosis in adults”
2.    Doctor Jary Jarvis, a pediatric orthopedic surgeon and university professor with over 30 years’ experience in vertebral deformities. He is the director of the orthopedic surgery division at the Children’s Hospital in Ontario Canada. He is also a member of scoliosis research societies, the North American pediatric orthopedics, and the Canadian Association of pediatric orthopedics. He will speak about “Hip dysplasia in children and elbow fractures”
In 2014 doctors treated 183 patients, children and adults, from lower income groups in Quito and other parts of the country. According to Nelly Mayla, social worker at Padre Carollo Hospital, this year 123 patients, 57 adults and 66 children, have signed up and will get surgery.
