Last December, Universidad Politecnica Salesiana organized a Christmas campaign in all three of its branch campuses (Cuenca, Guayaquil and Quito) to support people in need in indigenous and rural communities. Over 10,00 people, children and the elderly received donations from the university's volunteers.

In Guayaquil, donations were taken to: Recinto La Unión, Cooperativa María Auxiliadora de la Flor, Barrio Nigeria, Comuna San Nicolás and Comuna Casas Viejas.

In Quito, the donations were distributed in vulnerable sectors such as Florestal and Carcelén to members of the Salesian Project "Chicos de la Calle". Volunteers delivered food kits, candy bags and toys to about 2000 families from Simiatug (Bolívar) and 250 families from Zumbahua (Cotopaxi); 250 food kits were given to the families of Riobamba (Chimborazo), and in the province of El Oro UPS volunteers delivered candy, toys and food kits.

In Cuenca, the campaign called "Christmas, Time to Share a Smile" managed to collect 440 bags of products, 1500 bags of candies and 240 toys, which were taken to several communities in the south of the country such as Zhiña, Pucara, Oña, Católica, Lazareto , and some communities in the provinces of Esmeraldas and Morona-Santiago.

The campaigns, coordinated by the University's Pastoral department, were aimed at living the historical presence of Jesus, the Son of God with the Salesian university community, celebrating faith, sharing in solidarity and strengthening institutional identity.
