The information and communication technologies for disabilities research group organized an event which they titled "Working with and for people" in order to encourage the exchange of experiences and create tools based on ICTs.

The event was held in Guayaquil and attended by representatives of associations, federations and foundations for people with disabilities to talk about inclusive technologies. "Our job is to disseminate knowledge and help overcome barriers that people have set upon those with disabilities and provide support with ICT's", said Alica Narano, coordinator of the research group.

The speakers discussed their experience in inclusion for people with disabilities and how to provide support for professors, families and people who care for those who suffer from autistic spectrum disorder, physical or intellectual disability.

"Students must become sensitive to people with disabilities thinking about inclusive projects that improve their quality of life," says Claudia Amat, representative of the "Voces del Autismo" Foundation. There were also exhibitions presented by Sharon Merchán from the "Sin Barreras" foundation (FUNSIBA), Adriana Rivera of the SIL-Fenedif Labor Integration Service, Sandra Ycaza of Nuestra Señora del Carmen in the city of Guayaquil.
